Education officials come under fire

By Our Correspondent

TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 31: Both the treasury and opposition members were unanimous on the issue of recruitment of educators and transfers of teachers at the district council meeting held here on Thursday with acting convener Chaudhry Ramzan Cheechi in the chair.

Ruling party member Haji Shafqat Rasool of Pirmahal moved two resolutions which were unanimously approved by the house. The resolutions condemned the alleged corruption in education department, saying that district officers were committing irregularities in recruitment of educators and transfers of teachers.

The resolutions said merit was totally violated and the sub-committee of district council on education was never consulted in this regard.

The meeting demanded restoration of the previous procedure of issuance of domicile certificate by the DCO office and establishment of Nadra offices at Kamalia and Gojra.

District nazim Chaudhry Abdul Sattar, DCO Nawazish Ali and DPO Akhtar Laleka were also present in the session.
