KARACHI: No changes in KU exams schedule

KARACHI, Aug 31: The ongoing examinations for students of colleges affiliated with the University of Karachi will be held as usual, said an official of the university. When contacted, the official said that no decision to put off classes or examinations scheduled on Friday had been taken in view of the strike call given by opposition parties.

If students turned up in adequate number teaching classes and theory papers BEd/MEd and BA/BSc will be held as usual, the official added.

However, it was learnt through a source that the varsity administration was reluctant to ply its point buses as pick and drop services to students and staff on Friday as it apprehend law and order situation.

If University Road remains calm on the day of strike buses will be run from campus to NIPA and vice versa for the convenience of the candidates appearing in examinations, the source added.

In the meantime students at a number of private schools had been told by their teachers to stay at homes in case there is difficulty in availing the transport, but they would have to come on Saturday, a weekly off day, for education, to cover up the academic losses.
