HYDERABAD: Protest day observed in Sindh towns against Bugti’s killing

HYDERABAD, Aug 31: On the call of Sindh Qaumi Ittehad, a protest day was observed in parts of Sindh on Thursday against the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti and his associates.
In Hyderabad, a protest demonstration and ‘gaibana’ Nimaz-i-Janaza held in Qasimabad.
Leaders of component parties of the SQI, Paryal Bughio, Wali Jamari, Niaz Kalani and Hote Khan Gadhi said that Nawab Bugti’s sacrifice had infused a new spirit in the rights movement.
Another protest demonstration was held by PONM outside the Hyderabad press club.
Sindh PONM president Zain Shah, STP, SHC, SNF, JSQM, and BSO leaders spoke on the occasion.
They paid tribute to Nawab Bugti for sacrificing his life in the cause of people.
They said that the oppressed nations should unite on one platform for their rights.
Zain Shah said that Sindh was paying Rs1,500 billion per annum to the centre but it received only Rs75 billion in return.
STP activists held a big rally in Tando Allahyar in protest against the killing of Nawab Bugti.
Altaf Jiskani and Nisar Keerio led the protesters.
SUKKUR: Activists of nationalist parties held a rally outside the press club.
MPA Dr Nasrullah Baloch, Mushtaq Surhio, Shahzado Bhutto and Hizbullah Jakhro led the protesters.
Leaders said that now atrocities against Sindhis and Baloch would not be tolerated.
They demanded that the government should award exemplary punishment to the killers of Nawab Bugti.
Awami Tehrik activists held a rally in Thul in protest against the killing of Nawab Bugti.
Deedar Kandrani and Qayoom Noonari led the protesters.
LARKANA: Activists of nationalist parties held a demonstration in protest against the killing of Nawab Bugti.
JSQM chairman Bashir Qureshi, Gulzar Soomro of STP, Safdar Korai and Irshad Junejo led the rally.
The nationalist leaders expressed solidarity with the people of Balochistan.
They said that Punjab was ruling Balochistan as its colony and had occupied resources of the Baloch.
They said that oil and gas found in Sindh was property of the people of Sindh.
They condemned arrests of Sindhi nationalist leaders.
They said that Nawab Bugti was a patriot and sacrificed his life for his soil.
Bashir Qureshi said that Balochistan was the property of the Baloch.
He said Sindh sacrificed a lot for Pakistan but its rights were usurped by the Punjab.
Processions were also taken out in Qambar, Shahdadkot, Ratodero and Warah towns.
DADU: Activists of JSQM, JSSF, PPP-SB and SNF took out a procession from the municipal park to the press club.
Mohammad Khan Panhwar, Mehboob Bhurgari, Hakeem Jamali, Sajid Mastoi, Dawood Hingoro and Imam Bux Panhwar led the protesters.
SHIKARPUR: Activists of the Sindh National Front took out a procession to record their protest against the killing of Nawab Bugti.
Rasheed Bhutto and Hassan Mehmood Shah led the protesters.
NAWABSHAH: Activists of the JSQM took out a procession in protest against the killing of Nawab Bugti.
Sarwar Arejo, Dr Shiyam and Sarang led the protesters.
They said that Akbar Bugti was tortured to death by security forces and then killed.
They demanded that the government should end Balochistan operation and handover Bugti’s body for honourable burial.
MIRPURKHAS: A token hunger strike was observed by Sindh Qaumi Ittehad here on Thursday in protest against the killing of Nawab Bugti.
Ali Hassan Chandio and Zeeshan Leghari led the protesters.
