No rift with APHC, says Hizb
MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 30: Hizbul Mujahideen on Wednesday dismissed as concocted reports of differences between its commander Syed Salahuddin and All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Geelani.
A section of Indian media had claimed that mistrust had erupted between the two leaders who always supported each other.
“These reports are a pack of lies and absurd. The jihadi leadership has full faith and trust in Geelani Sahib who is representing sentiments of oppressed Kashmiris in true sense of word,” said Hizb spokesman Ehsan Elahi in a statement here.
“Syed Salahuddin firmly believes that it is Syed Ali Shah Geelani who has kept the cause of the Kashmiris alive over the past 50 years, nourished the freedom movement under the shadow of Tehreek-e-Islami, played a leading role in the political and armed struggle and raised morale of the Kashmiris in the most adverse situations,” he said, adding that mistrust of such a great person was unthinkable.
He also vehemently denied that there had ever been any heated argument between the two leaders.
“Such figments of imagination are handiwork of Indian agencies and anti-freedom forces which are making desperate but vain attempts to sow friction and discord in the ranks of freedom-loving people,” he said.
