KARACHI, Aug 30: Prof S. A. Jaffar Naqvi of the Kidney Foundation has been awarded with the National Kidney Foundation (USA) International Medal for the year 2007. A press release issued by the Kidney Foundation stated that the award had been conferred on him for his outstanding achievement in the field of nephrology. Dr Naqvi had set up the first nephrology department at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in 1970. He has about 60 publications on the subject to his credit.
