KARACHI, Aug 30: Six ships carrying containers, palm oil and yellow peas are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where five ships, Passat, to unload and load general cargo, Han Zhong Men to unload sugar, APL Jeddah, Y.M. Mondego and Hyundai Sprinter, to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of nine.

The ships, which departed were led by Corin Thaikos, Western Star, Mega-2, Kota Jormat, Shalamar, Superior Pescadores, Originator, Weston Calmy Coral, while APL Jeddah, Hyundai Sprinter, Windsor Star, Passat, Atlantic Trader and Marcalabria are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was light owing to lesser handling of liquid tonnage, falling to 29,949 tons. Both export and import tonnage fell to 10,128 and 19,831 tons respectively.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Stolt Avenir, with 4,000 tons of palm oil, Calvin P Titus, Oel Aishwarya, with containers, Anangel Eagle, with general cargo, Le Li, with 27,000 tons yellow peas and Iron Butterfly, with general cargo.
