10 killed in accident on Indus Highway

DADU, Aug 29: Ten people were killed and 26 others injured in accidents involving four vehicles, including three passenger coaches, near Manzoorabad in the Khanoth area on the Indus Highway late on Monday night.

A Hyderabad-bound coach coming from Larkana collided with a pick-up near Manzoorabad.

Soon after, a Larkana-bound passenger coach coming from Hyderabad collided with another coach. The vehicle coming from Hyderabad caught fire while the other coach fell into a ditch.

Over two dozen people were injured. They were admitted to the Liaquat University Hospital in Jamshoro and the Hyderabad Civil Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Bashir Sangri, Sanaullah Siyal, 40, Sharif Gopang, 45, Haji Liaquat, 60, Manthar Ali Buriro, 35, Mithal Brohi, 25, Qaimuddin and Rahamdad Brohi.

Two of the victims remained unidentified.

Khanoth SHO Mohammad Suleman Jessar said the four vehicles had been impounded.
