KARACHI, Aug 28: Five ships carrying sugar, containers and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where 10 ships were berthed. They are: Windsor Star, to load rice, Madte, to offload sugar, Yang Jiang He, Wan Hai-306, Corin Thaikos, Maersk Arkansas, Iran Sattari and Amasis, to unload and load containers, Myongsan, to unload and load general cargo and Shalamar to offload crude oil.

Sailing was also active as 11 vessels departed. They were: Yang Jiang He, Wan Hai-306, Global Progress, Maersk Arkansas, Noor-e-Mustafa, Bow Sea, Johar, Ding Xiang Hai, Madre, Ibn Batouta and Pacific Pioneer.

Seven others, including Pacific Ace, Amasis, Iran Sattari, Mac Aandresew Swala, Shalamar, Superior Pescadoros and Corin Thaikos are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity on the wharves was on the higher side as the total tonnage rose to 0.189 tons comprising 20,768 tons of export cargo including 2,477 tons of cement and 0.168m tons of import tonnage, which also included 7,439 tons of sugar.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: APL Jeddah, with containers, Carolina, with 12,000 tons of sugar, Sea Beauty, to load 21,000 tons of cement, Pasaat and Iron Butterfly, with project cargo.
