Eight killed in highway accident

SARGODHA Aug 27: Eight people, including five women, were killed and 13 wounded when two passenger buses collided head-on on the GT Road, a few kilometres from here, on Sunday.

According to police, a Lahore-bound bus, while overtaking another vehicle, collided with the other bus coming from the opposite direction.

As a result, eight people — Muhammad Tariq, Muhammad Ali, Sumera, Swera, Taj Bibi, Saadia, Amir Khatoon and Nadia — died on the spot while 13 others sustained injuries.

Six injured are reported to be in precarious condition.
