Sussex win title

LONDON, Aug 27: Former England paceman James Kirtley buried the nightmare of his suspension earlier this season to bowl Sussex to a 15-run win over Lancashire in the the C&G Trophy final at Lord's on Saturday.

Kirtley was banned from cricket for five months until March to undergo remedial work on a suspect action and he has responded in style by putting Sussex in sight of the county championship.

He grabbed the Man-of-the-Match award on Saturday for his 5-27 return as Sussex defended their meagre 172 after being put into bat.
