PESHAWAR, Aug 27: The World Health Organisation has devised a health agenda (2006-15) aiming to restructure the deteriorating health system, worldwide control the transmission of infectious diseases, address loopholes in execution of global health reforms.
According to data compiled by the WHO, there existed certain gaps in areas of social justice, owning of responsibility, flaws in implementation of global health agenda, especially in developing countries around the globe.
It outlined a programme for strengthening health system in underdeveloped countries, including Pakistan. Apart from government departments of health, such as pharmaceutical industry along with the activists of civil society organisations would be engaged to address certain flaws in health systems.
The document has accorded top priority to human health and has declared it as an important issue of social debate, the draft has discussed in detail the past with clear understanding of the present challenges, and gapes in response, the stress that its execution would requires strong political will, integrated policies and broad participation of different stake holders. Any significant progress towards MDG will require action in many sectors and at all levels, individual, community and national.
