ISLAMABAD, Aug 27: Three persons including a teenager were killed in separate incidents in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Sunday, police said.
Mir Afzal (58), a resident of Bakramadi, was stabbed to death by unidentified killer(s) near the Railway Carriage Factory.
The incident came to light when a worker of a hotel informed the police that a body was laying in a pool of blood at roadside and a taxi was parked few yards away from it.
The police reached the scene and shifted the body to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for autopsy.
According to medico legal report, Mr Afzal received a 4X2 centimetre wound to his abdomen, resulting in excessive bleeding which claimed his life.
The police ruled out the possibility of robbery as none of Mr Afzal’s belongings were found missing. The vehicle was parked a few yards away from the body and valuables including wrist watch and mobile were also found from the body.
Mr Afzal had quarrelled with some youngsters when his taxi collided with their vehicle three days ago.
A chewed used mobile prepared card was also found near the body, however it is yet to be ascertained that whether the card was used by the victim or the killer(s).
In another incident, Omair Ali, 16, a resident of Morgah, suffered multiple injures when a passenger pick-up hit him while he was heading home on a bicycle.
He was shifted to a nearby hospital where he died after succumbing to his injuries.
The police said Ali’s father had bought him the bicycle the same day and he had gone to his relative’s house at Model Town to share the joy.
Staff Reporter from Pindi adds: A man was killed and his brother stabbed and injured by two shopkeepers in Mohanpura Mohallah.
The incident happened after the wife of Amjad returned home from bazaar and complained about a shopkeeper who according to her had remarked at her.
Amjad along with his brother Muzamil went to the shopkeeper, Mohammad Azeem, to lodge protest. But it turned into a clash during which Azeem and his son attacked the two brothers with knives inflicting critical injuries to them.
The injured were removed to the District Headquarters Hospital where Muzamil died while be was being operated upon. While Amjad is said to be in stable condition.
