Driver dies in shootout

LAHORE, Aug 26: A truck driver was killed in a crossfire between two rival groups in Chuhng police station jurisdiction on Saturday. Kathha and Guddu Jaliana groups were trading fire close to Mannu Textile Mills when a stray bullet hit Irfan, 26-year-old driver of Itthad Goods, Manga Mandi. He died on the spot.

Police have arrested a member of the Jaliana group.

A woman reportedly committed suicide in City Raiwind over a domestic dispute.

Razia, 35, a mother of four, took poison for she was dejected over long unemployment of her husband Manzoor and resultant starvation of her family. — Staff Reporter
