KARACHI, Aug 26: Six ships carrying containers, general cargo and crude oil are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources. Carolina, with 12,000 tons sugar is due on Monday.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where two ships, Bow Sea, to unload chemical and Global Progress to unload and load containers were berthed.

Sailing on the other hand was active as seven vessels, Orient Independence, Kota Merdesa, Conti Esperance, Eric G. Gibson, Swat, Stove Tradition and Engin Kaptanoglu departed, while Johar, Noor-e-Mostafa, Global Progress, Bow Sea, Ding Xiang Hai, Yang Jiang He are due to sail out on Sunday.

A total tonnage of 94,977 tons comprising 14,232 tons of export cargo including 1,474 tons of cement and 80,745 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Shalamar, with crude oil, Maersk Arkansas, Iran Sattari, Mega-2, Amasis, with containers and Calmy Coral, with general cargo.

The following vessels are due on Monday: Central Park, to load 9,600 tons of ethanol, Mac Anadresew Swala, Western Star, with containers and Carolina, with 12,000 tons of sugar.
