PM assures full support for rain-hit people of Sindh

ISLAMABAD, Aug 25: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has asked the government of Sindh to adopt all necessary measures to alleviate the sufferings of the people hit by the recent rains and assured full support of the federal government in this regard.

The prime minister was talking to Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan who called on him at the Prime Minister House.

The meeting was also attended by Karachi City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, Sindh Minister for Transport Adil Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Durrani and Sindh Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman.

The Sindh governor briefed the prime minister about the steps being taken by the provincial government to improve the situation in Mirpurkhas and Sanghar where many villages had been inundated because of breach in embankments caused by massive inflow of water in the river Indus.
