PESHAWAR, Aug 25: NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan has expressed concern over the delay in implementation of the service structure for paramedics and directed authorities to immediately apply it to benefit health workers.

He was presiding over a meeting to discuss issues relating to paramedics service structure and other health sector problems. Secretary Finance Ziaur Rehman, Director General Health Services Dr. Jililur Rehman, Paramedics Service Structure’s coordinator Dr Mehmood Alam, chief of Health Services Reforms Unit, Yunus Javed and president of the Paramedics Association Sirajuddin Barki attended the meeting.

The meeting took certain decisions to remove hindrances in implementing the service structure.

He directed the authorities concerned to implement the NWFP cabinet’s decision regarding the service structure in letter and spirit.

The meeting also discussed appointment of new nurses, women medical technicians and the provision of staff to district headquarters hospital in Upper Dir.
