KARACHI, Aug 25: The provincial and the city governments were striving for the promotion of education in the province and teachers will have to perform their duties sincerely.
This was stated by MPA Hameedul Zafar at a free textbooks distribution ceremony organised by Malir Town at the town office.
He said services being rendered by the Malir Town in promoting education would become an example for the entire province.
Speaking on the occasion, Town Nazim Ansar Ahmed said that the city government was establishing two model schools in Malir Town. He said that the town administration in collaboration with Federal Communication Minister Shamim Siddique and MPA Hameedul Zafar was converting ST-I Kalaboard into a model school besides upgrading 5 schools from primary to elementary and upgrading 6 pre-primary schools to primary levels.
GADAP: The town nazim, Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, has offered himself for accountability saying he would tender resignation if misappropriation of even a single rupee is proved.
“Water retention weir in Gadap Town was built at a cost of Rs165 million in the greater interest of this area, as it would raise the subsoil water level benefiting agricultural land,” he said while speaking at an open kutchehry organised by Awami Forum of Mulla Issa Goth.
On the occasion, the nazim and naib nazim of UC Murad Memon Goth presented recommendations regarding various schemes.
People complained against the police alleging that crime rate had increased after setting up of a police check post in the area, and demanded removal of the check post.
GULSHAN: The town administration approved the name of an under-construction hospital near NIPA Chowrangi as Shaheed Nasir Hussain Hospital.
A meeting of the town council, presided over by Naib Nazim Shoaib Akhtar also approved increasing the tender limit to Rs10 million under category C-5.—PPI
