KARACHI, Aug 25: Police on Friday lodged 22 FIRs and arrested three religious scholars in different parts of the city under the “loud-speaker act”. Similarly, recordings of the Juma sermons were also made. The drive of registrations of FIR’s under the loud-speaker act against those fanning sectarian unrest or hatred is on for the past many months. A meeting of the provincial home sectaries and senior law enforcement officials was held in Islamabad to chalk out a strategy to keep a check on Juma sermons.
