Record coal handling

Published August 26, 2006

KARACHI, Aug 25: The Karachi Port set another record by handling 38,346 tons of coal during the last 64 hours. Coal had been discharged from Stove Tradition. This is a record cargo handling of coal at the port.

This reflects the overall efficiency of the Karachi Port, and that of stevedores who worked round-the-clock, providing maximum facilities to the port users.

Modernisation and computerisation of port activities has played a major role in improving the overall efficiency of the Karachi Port, which was gradually transforming to a paperless port, says a press release.
