Boosting exports

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 24: The commerce ministry is planning to arrange meetings with representatives of various associations to find out ways for increasing the exports. An official told Dawn on Thursday that the ministry had already sent a letter to Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) for arranging meetings with various associations in this regard.

He said that the proposal was under consideration following the slow growth recorded in export proceeds during the first month of the current fiscal year. According to the official, in case timely measure were not taken, it was likely that government would miss the export target for the current fiscal.
