Published August 24, 2006

KARACHI, Aug 23: The Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation has started collecting information about those killed during rains due to electrocution, and the families of such victims would soon receive compensation.

“We are in the process of collecting data of those died from electrocution during rains. We are carefully studying newspapers and have asked people to contact us as we have planned to compensate the families of the victims, but we do not want to publicize it”, Frank Scherschmidt, Chief Executive Officer of the KESC told newsmen at his office here on Wednesday.

He said the KESC has collected data of 20 people. A case to case fact-finding process is also being carried out to know the circumstances in which a person died.
