SUKKUR, Aug 23: The executive district officer of health formed a mobile team to provide medical help to gastroenteritis patients following reports of the disease’s outbreak in different areas of Sukkur, Rohri and Pano Akil, said an official handout on Wednesday.

The team that comprised a medical officer, a health education officer, vaccinators, dispensers and a ward servant, would provide treatment and medicines to the patients and advise them to adopt precautionary measures against the disease, it said.

A total of 39 gastroenteritis patients reported at taluka hospital, Pano Akil, out of whom six were admitted. Similarly, 12 patients were admitted to civil hospital, Sukkur on Aug 19 and 20.

The EDO directed the medical superintendents of taluka hospitals, Rohri and Pano Akil, to create awareness among people about the disease.
