KARACHI, Aug 23: Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil has said that problems being faced by shopkeepers of Motandas Market, Jilani Centre, Textile Plaza and other markets around Memon Masjid as well as by the pedestrians will be solved within the next few days.

While talking to shopkeepers during a visit of road around these markets on Wednesday, she said that sewerage problem of the area would be solved on permanent basis after the laying of a 24-inch-dia pipeline. She said that work was going on fast pace and it would be completed soon.

Nasreen Jalil said that the city government and town administrations were fully aware of the problems of people and efforts were continuing for their permanent solution, though it might take some time. She pointed out that the problems, which emerged after recent rains, are not s few months old but these remained unresolved in the past many years.

The shopkeepers demanded that Memon Masjid Road should be used for one way traffic.

The naib nazim told them to send their suggestions in writing so that after due consideration work on the same could be initiated.—APP
