Power supply to new buildings after NOC


LAHORE, Aug 22: Newly-constructed buildings will have to submit a no-objection certificate (NOC) issued by the City District Government Lahore or LDA for getting electricity connections.

Negotiations with Lesco were under way for this purpose with a view to preventing illegal constructions and buildings without approval of site plan in the city, said district nazim Mian Amer Mahmood while chairing a meeting at LDA Plaza here on Tuesday.

The meeting also reviewed new development projects worth Rs9 billion of LDA, Wasa and Tepa. LDA director-general Raja Muhammad Abbas, managing directors of Wasa and TEPA, the chief engineer and chief metropolitan planner attended the meeting.

Mian Amer directed launch of development projects of the new budget at the earliest for their timely execution, besides setting deadlines for their finalisation.

He further directed for chalking out a comprehensive calendar for commencement and completion of different phases of these projects and submission of a weekly progress report to him in this regard.

The meeting was informed that five big development projects would be launched next month, including construction work on a community centre at Muslim Town that would start on Sept 15, building of LDA office complex at Township would begin on Sept 20, work on LDA school building in Sabzazar would be kicked off on Sept 25 and reconstruction and widening project of Allama Iqbal Town main boulevard would be launched on Sept 29.

Work on other projects like construction of second track of Khyaban Jinnah from Shaukat Khanum Hospital to LDA Avenue-1, construction of a dual carriageway from southern bypass from canal to College Road, reconstruction of M.M. Alam Road and improvement of Bekhawal Morr would also commence very soon.

Mian Amer ordered construction of drains along both sides of newly built roads for draining out rainwater quickly. —APP
