ISLAMABAD Aug 18: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal’s Senator Prof Khurshid Ahmed has criticised President Pervez Musharraf’s overtures to India on Kashmir.
Prof Ahmed said in a statement: “It is unfortunate that the general … continues to make announcements which he is not qualified to make, because he lacks the mandate of people of Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir.”
“It is the Kashmiri people, who have the sole authority under Article 257 of the Constitution to decide their future,” he said.
Kashmiri people’s right of self-determination was non-negotiable, he said.
