KCCA appeals to PCB

KARACHI, Aug 18: The Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) secretary, Professor Sirajul Islam Bukhari, has requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to postpone remaining matches of ongoing Inter-district senior cricket tournament throughout the country, particularly Karachi, forthwith, in view of heavy rains.

In a letter to PCB Director Cricket Operations, Saleem Altaf, the KCCA official said that heavy rains on Thursday once again lashes the metropolis, leaving all grounds of the city inundated and feared that every match of the ongoing tournament could be abandoned due to heavy rains and wet conditions on grounds.

Bukhari suggested that instead of persisting to continue with the tournament, the remaining matches of the event should be postponed forthwith and may be organised simultaneously with the Patron's Trophy later this year.—Agencies
