Three drown in fish farm pond

TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 18: Three employees drowned in a fish farm pond in Chak 386-JB here on Friday. Khadim, Umer Draz and Talib were working in a pond of the farm when they suddenly went into deep water and drowned.

A source said the farm owner had illegally set up the farm by creating a spur in the sem nullah and was using rainwater for his farm. The three employees drowned when suddenly the water level increased in the nullah.

DCO Nawazish Ali reached the spot and got broken the spur.

Man held: City police arrested on Friday a butcher on the charge of selling meat of dead buffalo.

Adil, who belonged to Faisalabad, was carrying about 10 maunds of beef in a bus. The passengers felt bad smell coming from the beef and they overpowered him and handed over to city police.

During preliminary investigation, the accused confessed that he purchased beef from a butcher, Ramzan. He daily carried dead animals’ meat to Faisalabad.
