KARACHI, Aug 18: The Bahria University has decided to award PhD degrees to two candidates belonging to its Institute of Professional Psychology (IPP), said a spokesman for the varsity here on Friday.
The PhD dissertation defense ceremony was held at the IPP on Thursday, with BU rector, Vice-Admiral Farooq Rashid, in the chair.
Announcing the results, he said that he was impressed by the PhD projects and mentioned that the dissertations were thorough and the methodology was well-designed.
The two PhD candidates, Kehkashan Arouj and Afshan Aziz Damji, who were supervised by Dr Farrukh Z Ahmad, dean and director of the IPP, successfully defended their dissertations, added the spokesman.
The IPP, Karachi, is a constituent unit of the BU and is running masters, post magisterial diploma and PhD programmes in three different groups of psychology, ie clinical, educational and organisational psychology.
At present the institute has 45 students, out of which 7 are PhD candidates.
