Bandits have a field day

GUJRANWALA, Aug 17: Armed bandits looted two houses, three passersby and also took away two motorcycles in some six strikes in and around the city here on Thursday.

Reports said that two outlaws entered the house of Muhammad Asgher Nasim in Satellite Town by scaling its boundary wall. The intruders held hostage inmates and locked them in a room. Later, they collected Rs18,000 in cash, jewellery, two mobile phones and other valuables and escaped.

While as many bandits sneaked into the house of widow Sadia Akram in Shaheenabad locality. After holding inmates at pistol point, bandits locked them in a room, gathered dowry of widow’s daughter and escaped with the booty.

Two motorcyclists intercepted passersby Hafiz Muhammad Luqman and Syed Atif Ali when they were on their way home from the market in Model Town. They snatched from them Rs14,000 in cash, two cell phones and escaped from the scene.

Two robbers intercepted woman Tahira Banu and her son Javed Shah of Rakh Kikeranwali village on Ferozewala Road. They deprived them of Rs20,000 in cash, jewellery and other valuables at gunpoint and escaped.

Three robbers relieved Jamil Nasir of Naushera Road of his motorcycle (GAW-4178) and Muhammad Nawaz of Amir Centre, GT Road, of his bike (GAP-634) when they were on their way home.

Police have registered cases against the accused and are investigating.

WARRANTS: A local court on Thursday issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of two SHOs, an SI and constables for not appearing before court in connection with a case.

The judge directed the police authority to produce the accused policemen before court after arresting them on next hearing.
