Second Games contingent off to Colombo


ISLAMABAD, Aug 16: Pakistan’s 182-member batch is scheduled to leave for Colombo on Thursday to participate in the 10th South Asian Games.

This will be the second batch to leave for the Sri Lankan capital where the 10th South Asian Games are scheduled to be held from August 18-28.

The first batch, comprising 195 persons, departed for Colombo on August 13. Pakistan will be participating in all but one event (archery) in the Games, making it 20 sporting disciplines in all.

A total of 38 technical officials from Pakistan will also be involved in conducting these Games.

Pakistan won 38 Gold, 55 Silver and 50 bronze medals in the 9th SAF Games held at Islamabad in 2004.—APP
