KARACHI: Baloch people continue protest on 98th day

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 16: The protest Baloch people against illegal confinement of their family members allegedly by government agencies entered 98th day as they continued their sit-in at their camp outside the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday.

The Baloch Prisoners Release Committee (BPRC) also continued its series of protest rallies for the release of Baloch activists. Carrying banners and waving portraits of the ‘missing’ people, Baloch nationalists on Wednesday staged a demonstration outside the KPC for the release of all those allegedly whisked away by the agencies and have been kept at an undisclosed place for long. They also condemned an incident on August 14 in Turbat where, according to them, security forces resorted to baton-charge to disperse a women rally.

According to them, the rally had been organised by the family members of the missing people for their release from illegal confinement.

The BPRC rally described the action against innocent women and children as ‘an act of naked terrorism resorted to by the state’. They declared that such actions could in no way demoralise the Baloch people as they were determined to achieve their national objectives. They condemned the ongoing military ‘operation’ in Balochistan and vowed to resist all sorts of violence.
