KARACHI, Aug 16: A young man was beaten by a group of men who later threw him on a live electric wire causing his instant death in Defence on Wednesday.

Police said that Ghulam Qadir, 28, was intercepted by seven to eight men at Bader Commercial, alleging him of eve teasing. On his denial, the group of men gave Qadir a sever beating following which they threw him at a snap electric wire, police said.

Ghulam Qadir was electrocuted. His body was later shifted to the Jinnah hospital for postmortem examination.

Following the legal formalities, the body was sent to his native town, Rajanpur. The deceased was domestic servant at a nearby house, police said.

Police said that the suspects escaped following the incident.

ASP Darakshan, Sohail Chatta said that police had traced the suspects who were working at an under construction house at a nearby street. He said that the suspects would be arrested soon.

In Khokhrapar, a young man was killed outside his house on Wednesday.

Police said that Shafeequllah, 25, was shot dead by unidentified armed men near his home. Quoting the statement of family, police said that Shafeeq didn’t have any political affiliation nor had enmity with any group.

Body of the deceased was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination.

ACCIDENT: A young girl died in a road accident in Lyari.

Police said that Tahira, 12, was knocked down by a speeding truck in Lyari. The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where she died during treatment.

Police said the truck driver escaped following the accident.
