KARACHI: 91 freed under remission

KARACHI, Aug 12: The Sindh government has released 91 prisoners, two of them women, from different jails in Sindh in pursuance of President Pervez Musharraf’s announcement for remission on the eve of the Independence Day.

Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui, in a statement issued here n Saturday, said that a remission of three months had been announced for those serving 25-year term and of 45 days for those serving lesser terms.

He said that a total of 179 prisoners would benefit from the presidential order.—PPI
