Case for church desecration

TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 11: Nawan Lahore police on Friday registered a blasphemy case against a Muslim for desecration of a church at Chak 348-JB.

Police said that church administrator Waris Masih had informed police that one Haji Khalil Ahmad had donated a piece of land for the construction of a church. After the completion of its building, the Christian community of the village started worshipping in the church. He alleged that accused Hassnain Rehan, the son of Haji Khalil, axed the cross into pieces. The police could not arrest the accused till the filing of this report.

CASE: On the orders of a local court, Rajana police on Friday instituted a case against its own sub-inspector on the charge of misappropriation of valuables recovered from the arrested accused.

ASI Muhammad Khan lodged a complaint that accused SI Ghulam Askari Shah was found involved in corruption during the checking of the recovery record.

RESOLUTIONS: Resolutions to condemn Israel for launching an attack on Lebanon were passed in Friday congregations in almost all mosques of the town.
