GUJRANWALA, Aug 11: Around 49 minor children, involved in begging, were caught by the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau from various parts of the city on Friday.
The bureau later handed over 29 children to their heirs through court on the same day.
Reports said that these children, missing from their houses for the last several days, were begging in different areas while some of them became addicts.
The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau admitted these children to its institute where they would be given education.
It was stated that bureau’s juvenile section also got released some 10 minor children from jail. Most of them were likewise handed over to their parents through courts concerned.

Reports said that convicts — Rashid and Aamir of Naushera Virkan - had killed passersby Waris and Azam and injured two constables Nadeem and Qaiser on resistance during a dacoity bid in Naushera Virkan in 2002.
While one Ibrar Hussain had shot dead Baber Hussain and injured his father Muhammad Aslam for offering resistance during a dacoity attempt in Shakergarh in 2004.
The court handed down death sentences to them while the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court upheld the decision. The president also rejected their clemency appeals.
RALLY: The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) staged a protest rally against Israel for launching an attack on Lebanon and killing innocent civilians.
The low-paid employees of almost all government and semi-government functionaries gathered outside the district education office. Later, they reached the office of the district coordination officer after marching through various roads. Protesters were also carrying banners and placards inscribed with anti-Israel and anti-US slogans.

FINED: A special magistrate imposed fines of Rs33,000 collectively to 13 shopkeepers for not displaying price lists at Ghakkhar Town on Friday.
Reports said that magistrate Iqbal Warraich rejected the price lists provided by the market committee on the ground of being different from the price list of the district administration. He also warned that market committee officials would be taken to task.
