Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Aug 11: Five ships carrying coal and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where nine ships were berthed. They are: Maersk Alabama, Thor Captain, Orient Independence, Y.M. Energy and Kota Perkasa, to unload and load containers, Golden Sky, to offload DAP fertiliser, Rickmers Doha, to offload general cargo, Scan Bothnia, to load project cargo and Torm Sara, to load naphtha.

Six ships, Marcalabria, Hyundai Advance, Maersk Alabama, Swat, Athloforos and Ocean Friend departed on Friday, while Kota Perkasa, Torm Sara, An Yue Jiang and Maersk Arkansas are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total tonnage of 72,399 tons comprising 21,416 tons of export cargo and 50,983 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Yang Jiang He, Emerald Sea, Jade Trader, CMA CGM Simba, with containers and Alexa-M, with coal.
