‘England will play their strongest side in final Test’
LONDON, Aug 10: All-rounder Paul Collingwood believes England will play their strongest side in the final cricket Test against Pakistan.
There had been calls for England to experiment at The Oval, starting August 17, because they have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
But writing in his column, Collingwood rejected the idea. “If anything we want to raise standards even further and produce an even better performance at The Oval next week.”
England squad will be announced on Sunday and new players, including seamer Stuart Broad, have been touted as possibilities for final match.
But Collingwood does not believe it would be a good move to change a winning side.
“Just because we have won series does not mean we are going to take it easy and test out other players.
“We have got a strong side and we will want to keep that together. We don't just want to win series, we want to win it well.”—Agencies
