KARACHI: Power supply position improves

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 10: As the supply of the electricity to the city improved and the demand remained almost the same on Thursday a relatively lesser number of people called newspaper offices to register their grievances towards the Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation.

A caller, Shaheryar Hassan from Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Block 16, said that his area was without electricity from noon till 1.30pm and then again from 7pm to 9pm.

A resident of Clifton Gardens, Feroza Malik said that her area had been without power supply from 11 in the morning till 8pm. Calling from Block 14, Federal B Area, Aleem Qureshi, said that his area had been without power supply from noon to 1pm and then again from 7.30pm to 9pm.

Meanwhile, the KESC chief Frank Scherschmidt at a press briefing said that the power supply situation had eased and now approximately 2,070 MW was available against the demand of 1,980 MW so no load shedding was being carried out.
