KARACHI: Schools given one year for shifting

KARACHI, Aug 10: The Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) on Thursday gave one year more for regularisation of private schools established in the residential areas or shifting them to commercial buildings.

“Using residential land for commercial or business purposes is a blatant violation of building laws, SBCO 1979; they may be factories, markets, private schools or offices”, KBCA Chief Controller Mumtazur Rehman said.

He was talking to a delegation of private school owners, comprising heads of some 20 private schools established in Clifton Blcok-4, which called on him at his office here.—PPI
