Pamphlet identifies suicide bomber

TANK, Aug 9: A pamphlet purportedly written by tribal militants of South Waziristan has identified the suicide bomber who had struck the Shakai rest-house on Aug 4 as a fellow tribesman.

The young suicide bomber, Younas, who belonged to the Salmankhel tribe of Wana, was disinherited by his parents for joining jihadis.

The pamphlet, while eulogising the sacrifice of the bomber, said Younas embraced martyrdom for the glory of Islam.

The statement written in Urdu said many soldiers were killed and a number of military vehicles destroyed in the attack.

The statement said 22-year-old Younas drove his explosive-laden car and rammed it into a rest-house wall, blowing it up.
