LAHORE, Aug 9: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has expressed dissatisfaction over the inappropriate utilisation of monthly grant of $6,000 by Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) to improve the base of coaches.

AFC has been providing grant since January 2006. But due to bad planning, PFF has been using only $3,000 by appointing only 15 coaches who have passed 'C' Licence course, although there are 75 such coaches. Under the scheme, some coaches are being paid $250, while others USD 200.

AFC was not satisfied with the criteria adopted by the PFF as it had earmarked $3,000 for 15 coaches, while similar amount for other three coaches including deputy director technical Muslim Butt.

Sources said PFF recommended $2,000 for Muslim who is also drawing Rs20,000 as deputy director technical. Two more coaches were recommended for $500 each but AFC rejected the proposal.

The AFC is also unhappy as PFF failed to produce record of performance of the 15 coaches. The AFC had asked for a detailed report about the performance of the coaches two months ago but is yet to receive any reply.

So far PFF had wasted $24,000 by not utilizing the AFC grant, sources said.
