Man shot dead in house break-in

SHEIKHUPURA, Aug 9: A man was killed here on Wednesday by unidentified assailants in Nankana Sahib police limits.

Reports said some men entered the house of Azizullah at Karampura near Jaslani Morr in Warburton police limits and opened fire, killing him on the spot. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.

Police are investigating.

DIES: A shopkeeper, who was injured by three dacoits on July 29 in Farooqabad police limits, succumbed to his injuries at Mayo hospital, Lahore on Wednesday.

Reports said Tariq, Javaid Iqbal and Basharat Masih had intercepted Umer Javed when he was on his way home from the shop. They had injured him on resistance and made off with Rs19,000. He had been shifted from DHQ hospital to Lahore where he died on Wednesday.

Farooqabad police have registered a case and arrested Tariq and Javaid Iqbal. Basharat Mashi is at large.

RAPED: A girl was allegedly raped in Manawala on Wednesday.

Reports said Niamat Ali told the police that her daughter `S’ went to fields where accused Rafaqat Ali raped her at gunpoint. Manawala police have registered a case and are investigating.
