Power will be restored by 12th: KESC CEO


KARACHI, Aug 9: The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) has assured businessmen that all faults causing power failure in industrial and commercial areas of Karachi will be removed by Saturday, Aug 12, and 95 per cent power supply will be restored in all areas of the metropolis.

The assurance was given by CEO KESC Frank Scherschmidt in a meeting with president KCCI and other business leaders held on Wednesday at the Karachi chamber. He also said that the compensation cheque for any life loss due to electrocution will be paid quickly, says a press release issued by the KCCI.

Responding to suggestions made by Siraj Kassam Teli and Haroon Farooki the KESC chief committed that a time-frame for uninterrupted power supply will be chalked out by the KESC and made public, distribution system to reduce the line losses will be improved and a notable improvement in service of the KESC will be made.It was also agreed that a monitoring cell comprising of six representatives of the KCCI and SITE Association of Industry with two officials from the KESC will be set up to work round the clock to keep vigilance on the work of fault removal in industrial and commercial areas of Karachi.
