Port Qasim

KARACHI, Aug 9: Two ships to load and offload containers were allotted berths at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, six more ships also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy rose to 78 per cent as even vessels, Sealand Independence, Xiang Wan, Precious, Constantinos-G, Yong Xiang-9, Green Park and Al-Mukhtarah, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, sugar, chemicals and furnace oil.

A cargo volume of 51,919 tons comprising 36,151 tons of import and 15,768 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Al-Mukhtarah, Green Park and Sealand Independence left the port. Nine ships were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
