NBP officers demand loans

Published August 9, 2006

LAHORE, Aug 8: The National Bank of Pakistan Officers Association has demanded immediate sanction of rain loans and enhancement of house building and car loan ceilings.

Voicing the demand at an association meeting held here on Tuesday, secretary general Naeemullah Faridi said sanction of rain loan was necessary to enable the officers to repair their houses damaged due to heavy rains.

Enhancement of house building and car loan ceilings was necessary in view of increase in construction costs and prices of cars.

He said ceilings for loans should be enhanced but markup rates should be reduced.

He demanded recruitment of deserving children of bank officers and executives under the quota system. The meeting ended after adopting a resolution calling for charge-sheeting of the professional union leaders involved in illegal recruitments in the bank in 2003. The participants in the meeting also demanded dismissal of those recruited in violation of rules and regulations.
