By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 7: President Pervez Musharraf on Monday advised the Sindh chief minister to work in cohesion with the party leadership and coalition partners in the interest of political stability in the province, sources in the Sindh PML forward bloc claimed after meeting the president.

According to them, the president said in clear terms that it was the best opportunity for the chief minister to win over the estranged leaders and achieve the objective of political stability in the province.

A series of activities relating to the PML Sindh forward bloc were witnessed in the federal capital.

First, President Musharraf chaired a meeting in Rawalpindi and later led consultations at a lunch hosted by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at the prime minister’s house. PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Rahim, PML Secretary-General Mushahid Hussain Syed, PML Sindh Secretary-General Nadir Akmal Khan Leghari met the prime minister in the afternoon.

The sources claimed that the forward bloc urged the president to replace Arbab Rahim with a ‘suitable’ person because the party and the government could not move ahead due to the chief minister’s attitude.

During informal talks at the prime minister’s house, the president highlighted the need for continued political stability in order to develop the country and improve the quality of people’s life.

The prime minister, while welcoming the Sindh PML (forward bloc) delegation, said that this was a historic year for the PML as the party was celebrating 100th anniversary of its creation.
