Horse-racing: The Conqueror’s fancied to win day’s honours
KARACHI, Aug 5: Three-year-old bay colt, the Conqueror’s, is fancied to win days honours should he sprint to victory in the Summer Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.
He is drawn in a field of 18 runners in the five furlongs third race and on current form start as our days’ best. Lucky Friend and Bright and Early enjoys an edge over the others for the places.
A card of eight races has been drawn for the day. The first race begins at 1.pm.
Six-year-old dark bay horse King Of The Field is poised to make amends of three successive failures by landing the opener. He should be chased by chestnut filly Sea Gul and mare Ghabra for the places.
Tom Cruise, an eight-year-old horse, is tipped to pick up spoils in the next race. He should be followed by Desperado and Tun Baba Tun.
If tried by connections, four-year-old Jack in the Box should present its owner with a winner.
Filly Queen Of Mirwa is on course to make it two in a row should he gallop to victory in the fifth race which has a field of 17 aspirants. However, she should have to overcome Annaba and Goldi Locks in accomplishing the task.
Three-year-old chestnut colt, The Big Show, may upset the applecart.
Three-year-old chestnut colt, Reyan King, should dominate the sixth race to be followed home by Baba Jani and Haseena-e-Arab. The horse to be watched is Dil Phaink.
Five-year-old chestnut Yes Neighbour Yes is expected to repeat his winning feat. Also in line are bay colt Captain Black and Gullu’s Government.
Sea Wave, a five-year-old bay horse, may land the concluding event to make it two on trot.
