KARACHI, Aug 5: Speakers of a seminar here on Saturday lambasted the United States for supporting Israeli aggression against Lebanon and Palestinian people.

The seminar was organised by the Karachi University’s Department of International Relations.

A former ambassador, Mehdi Masood, analysed the goals and objectives of the current Israeli onslaught. The role of UN, EU and OIC also came under discussion at the seminar.

Shahnawaz Farooqi threw light on the historical dimension of the conflict. Two students, Naveed Nazim and Haris Bin Aziz, presented papers on the emergence of Hizbullah and Hamas, respectively. They said that these resistance movements were playing the role of catalyst in promoting a change in the region.

Prof Talat Wizarat, Dr Shaista Tabassum, Nousheen Wasi and Prof Sikander Mehdi also attended the seminar.—PPI
