KARACHI, Aug 5: Eight vessels carrying palm oil, chemicals and to load naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Tower Bridge, Oel Aishwarya, Global Prosperity, to unload and load containers, and Southern Imperial, to offload chemical, were berthed.

Sailings on the other hand were on the higher side, as nine vessels departed after unloading and loading cargoes. They are: Iran Tabatabaei, Mol Accord, Calvin P. Titus, Y.M. Sun, El-Termeratio, Johar, Swift and QSM Micat.

Victoria-1, Southern Imperial, Global Prosperity, Denden and Cape Santiago are due to sail out on Sunday after loading containers and general cargo.

A total tonnage of 98,756 tons comprising 19,016 tons comprising 19,016 tons of export cargo, including 226 tons of rice and 948 tons of cement, and 79,740 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Al-Marwah, to unload chemicals, Rising One, to load naphtha, Stolt Avenir, to offload 3,962 tons of palm oil, Corin Thaikos, Thor Jasmine, Makran, Scan Bothnia and Ocean Friend, with containers.

The following ships are due on Monday: Mol Silver Fern, 0Orient Independence, China Star, with containers, Jolbus, with steel, Persia, An Yue Jiang and Cosmio Challenger, with general cargo.
