Rallies condemn Israel, US

LAHORE; Aug 4: A large number of Punjab University students on Friday held a demonstration against the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and expressed solidarity with the Lebanese.

The students which gathered under the banner of Islami Jamiat Tulaba, also chanted slogans against the US for backing the Zionist state.

Speaking on the occasion, PU IJT Nazim Salman Ayub said the US and Israel were committing the worst ever aggression against innocent civilians in Palestine and Lebanon. On the other hand, he said, Muslim states were just passing resolutions.

He said the Muslim countries’ rulers should learn lesson from the Lebanon situation and stop obeying their Western masters. He said the Pakistani students were ready to support Lebanon and fight against Israel.

KEMU: The King Edward Medical University students also organised a protest rally from the university campus to Hall Road and chanted slogans against Israel and America. They also blocked traffic on Hall Road chowk.

Speaking to the protesters, KEMU IJT Nazim Dr Shafiq Butt said the Israeli attack on innocent civilians was like killing of humanity.

PAT: The Pakistan Awami Tehrik said its workers had taken out rallies throughout the country. In Lahore, they organized a demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club.
